relaxing

We are still in the Algarve region of Portugal. We have spent some time at the pool, the beach, rented a car and drove around to a vinyard, and today we had an awsome supper at a great little place in Old town. We also spend lots of time shopping today. We have bought virtualy nothing on our trip so far because we have to carry everything. So now in our last few weeks we thought now was the time for some shopping. We bought some very fun stuff. Colton and Miranda wanted to buy grandpa another cane but after the last trip carrying a cane around we had to leave it behind. Hopefully the last one is still intact.
We are trying to take it easy, cook most of our own food. Use the washing machine (everyday) in our apartment and just chill. Today we all had a much better day. The easy pace must be just what was needed. Gottoa go for my body massage now (Erin and I are trading massages).

Portugal

We are in Portugal for our last few weeks of laying on the beach, touring vineyards and just having a vacation. We have spent the last 6 weeks being travelers and now I think it's time to have a vacation before we head back to the real world of school, work and whatever else awaits us back home. We are experiencing a weariness. It is common I'm sure, but still at times troublesome. I feel like we should be more rested, but we are not. We have spent 24/7 together. Sleeping, eating, planning and just being together. I think I have spent maybe 1 hour in the last 45 days alone. I am a people person, I have always felt I could live in community full time. I love being with people, so I have been mostly fine, but at this point it would be cool to spend a day in an empty house all alone for an entire day....Hmmm. I miss my friends, my family,Kalli sleeping in my arms(don't get me started about what I am missing with her), Sunday morning coffee and Sunday night hot tubing, my dogs, MMO, Seeds, camping, being able to pick up the phone and call my friends anytime, being able to call up my sisters and say, hey I'm stopping by for coffee. I miss you all. Yup, it's time to come home. But first we will enjoy our last 2 weeks here. Even though we dream and talk about all the things we will do as soon as we get back.

AN ANCIENT TRADITION

WE ARE IN A CITY IN SPAIN CALLED SEVILLE. WE ARE HERE TO HAVE A BREAK FROM THE DAYS OF CONSTANT TRAVEL WE HAVE BEEN HAVING THE LAST FEW WEEKS. WE SPENT THE MORNING HANING OUT IN OUR HOTEL ROOM. WE DIDN'T LEAVE TILL RIGHT BEFORE LUNCH. WE ALSO HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND A PLACE TO STAY IN PORTUGAL SO WE HAVE BEEN TAKING TURNS ON THE COMPUTER. IT TOOK US 5 HOURS ON 2 COMPUTERS TO GET A LEAD ON A PLACE. WE ARE WAITING TO HEAR BACK TO KNOW FOR SURE WEATHER WE WILL GET IT. EVERYTHING SEAMS TO BE BOOKED UP IN THE SOUTH OF PORTUGAL AND SO IT HAS BEEN TOUGH GOING.
THIS AFTERNOON DEAN, ERIN AND I WENT TO AN ARABIC HAMMAN. A HAMMAN IS A TYPE OF BATHHOUSE/SPA. THEY HAVE ONE AT THE TEN SPA IN WINNIPEG. WE WENT INTO 4 DIFFERENT BATHS EACH VARYING IN TEMPERATURE. THERE WAS A WARM, COOL,HOT AND VERY COLD POOL. THEY ALSO HAD AN AROMATHERAPY STEAM ROOM. DURING OUR BATH THEY CALLED US FOR A SHORT MASSAGE. IT WAS A HEAVENLY AFTERNOON. WE WENT FOR SUSHI AND THAI FOOD FOR SUPPER TO ROUND OUT AN AWSOME DAY.
